Cedric Jones – Athletic Director of the New York Athletic Club speaks highly of Anderson Peak Performance.
I have been a patient of chiropractic for over 25 years. As former professional football player, chiropractic adjustments and manipulation were an integral part of keeping me healthy and keeping me on the field during my playing days. Upon retirement from professional football, I started to see a chiropractor not as often and after a while; not at all. Five years ago, I met Dr. Jeanette Anderson and I started to visit her practice on a regular basis. Though I am no longer an elite athlete, I still workout five days per week. Through her knowledge of chiropractic/wellness and her treatment of elite level athletes, Dr. Anderson has improved my quality of life, improved my posture and flexibility, and she has given me the tools to remain active at a high level. Dr. Anderson is a consummate professional in her field.

I first met Dr Anderson at a work event. I had been having spasms and tension in my neck. In that visit she made me aware of how my head was leaning forward and the impact it had on my nervous system. I had my reservations at first but I felt that it was best for me and I started receiving her care.
Over time I started to have some issues with my lower back from standing at work and the stress from school. She provided me with stretches, exercises, and an answer for every question with each of my visits (not to mention kindness and understanding). Now the pain and tension in my neck and back is gone. And what’s even more remarkable is how I learned to take care of myself and be aware of my body. Thank you Dr Anderson for everything.

How Chiropractic Care has helped me.
In 2004, I was experiencing extreme pain in my back while exercising and ignored the pain for two years. I just dealt with it the best I could. It was not until the pain became so intense that I had to get my back checked out. My trainer suggested I see a Chiropractor which I vehemently refused to do. However, when the pain became too intense and started taking my breath away and even though I was terrified I finally went to see a Chiropractor that my trainer had suggested. Thank God I finally listened.
The main reason for my fear was that in my third year of law school (December 1989) I was involved in a car accident where I sustainded a spinal injury (complete break to C2 and fractures to C6 and C7) and I was placed in a Halo device to stabilize my spine. My fear of seeing a Chiropractor stemmed from what I had viewed on television years ago of people having their neck and body twisted violently and I was extremely nervous, because all I could think of was something happening to my neck again requiring
me to be placed in another Halo. The Halo is a mobile traction device that is attached to your skull by four (4) long bolts screwed into your skull with six (6) pounds of pressure on each bolt, the bolts are held in place by a metal ring around your head (the Halo) and the metal bars holding the ring are attached to a vest that surrounds your chest. The patient is unable to move his/her head or neck for several months until the spinal injury heals and in my case I was in the device for three (3) months only because I healed
very quickly (I was supposed to be in the device for six months). As a result, the fear of being put back in one of the contraptions was in the fore front of my mind and I was terrified.
In June 2006, I finally arranged an examination with Dr. Jeannette M. Anderson (more commonly known as Dr. A) and she took the time to get to know the problems I was experiencing, what if any past injuries I had suffered and then conducted a thorough examination including x-rays and a scan of my spine. She did not perform any adjustments in our initial meeting and this made me begin to think this Doctor may be alright. In my second appointment, she took the time to explain what she believed was causing my pain and then conducted her first adjustment and established a treatment plan geared specifically for my situation.
Almost immediately, I developed a trust in Dr. A’s abilities and in Dr. A herself. What I learned very quickly is that she is intelligent, has the practical knowledge, she wants to see an improvement in her patients overall well being and to do what she thinks is the proper medical treatment for the patient. She is friendly, caring and most of all a no-nonsense type of person, which works well for me because I can be a bit stubborn at times and would have refused to do certain treatments that have aided in my recovery.
Currently, I have been seeing Dr. A on a weekly basis for a nearly four years and the difference I feel in my back is remarkable. The intense pain I was experiencing in my mid and lower back is completely gone, with minor flares up in my lower back when I fail to get adjusted regularly. What people should be aware of, at least in my situation, is that Chiropractic Care is not an overnight cure and that the pain in one spot may move during treatment and the pain may intensify but if you continue seeing a good Chiropractor (Dr. A for one) you will eventually become pain free. However, it is up to the patient to follow the doctor’s instructions and all will end ina a positive result, i.e. the patient living pain free and his/her overall health improved.

Chiropractor, Dr. Jeannette Anderson, a loyal client of Salon Ziba has seen the staff struggling with our daily work of artistry and has chosen to educate the team on the effects of “Forward Head Posture”.
In this informative presentation, Dr. Jeannette Anderson discussed the effects of poor posture that can lead to weak neck muscles, fatigue, stress, and therefore affecting our ability to fully perform services to our full potential. She came fully prepared with a life size model of the spine, and ways to differentiate good versus bad posture; and some of the physiological effects of altered posture. Dr. Jeannette Anderson used her model of the spine, and also the staff demonstrate the forward head posture to exemplify a type of bad posture and also discussed some of the related stresses, strains and physiological changes that will impact cervical tissues. She had also educated the Salon Ziba staff exercises which included repetitions of neck retraction exercises, and have devised reliable methods to assess the posture and skeletal alignment of the spine and skull of technicians with such abnormalities.
The Salon Ziba team is incredibly thankful for Dr. Jeannette Anderson’s discussion on this common issue, and the staff has continued to practice and educate others on the forward head posture.

Dr. Anderson has been fantastic for me. I am a difficult case with a previous botched spinal surgery. She went to great lengths to understand my case and limitations and she used all of her experience to help me with flexibility and dexterity. Within weeks there was a marked improvement compared to years with no improvement. Thanks!

As an Olympic athlete, chiropractic care was a necessary part of my training regime in order to reach peak performance! My typical routine during heavy training periods involved once weekly visits to my chiropractor for ART (Active Release Therapy) and maintenance adjustments. Recovery from hard training and avoiding injury are essential to reaching the highest competitive levels and chiropractic was a critical recovery modality I utilized throughout the year. At the top level in track and field, the difference between medaling and missing the podium is often razor thin so as an athlete I always tried to optimize my performance by seeking any available advantage – chiropractic care was one of the critical elements I used to optimize my body’s ability to compete on race day. While my regular chiropractor generally did not travel with me to competitions, fortunately the USA Olympic Team realizes how important chiropractic care can be to competitive results and includes chiropractors on its Olympic Team staffs. As a chiropractor on the 2004 Olympic Track and Field team staff, Dr. A assisted me and many other USA athletes to compete at our best in Athens. Though no longer competing, when the aches and pains of sitting at a desk all day or being a weekend warrior hit, I call upon Dr. A.

Before I met Dr. Anderson I was told that I should take running off my list of activities. Not only did I complete my first marathon this year, but also thanks to my chiropractic care I have a whole new sense of well-being. I feel better and more balanced than I have ever felt before. My treatments have now become part of my routine and I am so grateful that Anderson Peak Performance is part of my life.

Dr. Anderson is like a piano tuner. She gets to the heart of the matter with great precision. Unlike many chiropractors today, her holistic approach includes educating her patients how to upgrade their nutrition & make lifestyle changes that are the root causes of body inflamation and injuries.
I highly recommend Dr. Anderson to everyone I know. She is critical part of my life long health & wellness program that is essential to me living a happier, healthier, more fulfilling & productive life.
